Studio guidelines

1.Lessons and Practice. Students will receive weekly 60-minute lessons. Students are expected to practice on a regular basis.  Any student who is consistently unprepared for lessons (as determined by June), including without assigned music, will receive a verbal warning and parents will also receive warning.  Students will then have two months to demonstrate their level of commitment.  If, after two months, the student continues to arrive unprepared, the student will be asked to leave the studio permanently.  June also reserves the right to shorten a lesson if a student arrives unprepared (ex. – comes to lesson without music or practicing) or behaves in an inappropriate manner.  The remainder of the lesson time will not be refunded under such circumstances.

2.Attendance and Punctuality. Consistent attendance and punctuality is expected.  Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes early without calling ahead.  Parents must pick up promptly.

3.Payment. The current price of lessons is $40 per 60-minute session.  Rates may change after the initial six month period, with two months notice given in the event of an increase.  Payment may be made in full when the contract is signed or paid in monthly installments.  If the installment plan is selected, payment is due in full at the first lesson of each month. If payment is not received by the second lesson of the month, no lesson will be conducted until payment is made and a late fee of $10 per lesson may be incurred. Please note that returned checks will be charged a penalty fee of $25, and future payments may be requested in cash, money order, or cashier’s check.

4.Cancellations. To cancel a lesson, email June at June@Solomonson.com or call June at (512) 293-7544. All cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will be charged, but make-ups will be allowed for last minute illnesses and emergencies.  (Note: If less than 24 hours notice, you must call to cancel.)  

5.Make-ups.  Students are allowed one excused absence (24+ hours notice) per month.  Additional excused absences must be made up by the next month or student will forfeit the fee for that week.
Exceptions to this policy will be allowed only in the event of serious illness or medical/family emergency, student vacations, and work-related trips.  If June must reschedule a lesson for whatever reason, every effort will be made to reschedule at a mutually convenient time.  Otherwise, no charge will be assigned for that week.  

6.Term.  The student has entered into a 6 month commitment with the signing of this contract.  Any student who breaks their commitment will be obligated to remit payment for the remainder of the commitment. After six months from the date of signing, students may terminate lessons provided they give 30 days advance notice. Otherwise students are obligated to remit payment for the remainder of the month.  All other contract terms will remain in full force until lessons are discontinued.
